What is an upmarket dating site?
Is "The Educated Singles Club" an Upmarket dating site?
Some media who has been writing about The Educated Singles Club use the definition "upmarket". But is that really a proper label to put on The Educated Singles Club?
Cambridge English Dictionary has the following definition:
"Upmarket goods and products are of very high quality and intended to be bought by people who are quite rich:"
In the club, we do indeed value quality, but we don't care about the members' income or fortune. We only care about the level of documented education.
So to answer the question of whether or not The Educated Singles Club is an upmarket or upscale dating club the answer has to be yes and no.
Firstly, The Educated Singles Club is not a dating site. It is a membership-fee driven club for well-educated singles. Most join because they want to date, of course, but it can happen at any pace and may not be the primary reason for joining.
Statistically, well-educated people are more affluent than people with no educated. But we don't answer for any financial information during the application assessment process simply because we don't care. So in that sense, The Educated Singles Club is not upmarket.
